MeI don’t pretend to be an all-knowing theological scholar, nor am I a youth pastor, a worship pastor, a senior pastor, or any other sort of pastor. I’m a man with God in my heart and a desire to share that heart with the world. For those of you who want more detail than that, who am I to say no?

My name is Nik Nilsson, and I'm a Canadian who was born in Sweden lo, those many years ago. My family came to Canada when I was about 5, and through my refinement in the fire of Canadian elementary education, I quickly forgot all my Swedish except for the bad words and numbers one through twenty-nine. I've been divorced once, but this led me to the most supportive, prettiest woman in the world, and I've been happily married to her for what seems like 11 or 12 hundred years. She came with three lovely stepdaughters, all of whom have my stunning good looks in spite of the genetic impossibility. Two of them are now teenagers, which is problematic in terms of stocking appropriate ammunition.

I own a small software development company which operates out of Maple Ridge, British Columbia. This company is staffed entirely by slackers (me), and the person in charge of the bookkeeping is a complete incompetent (also me). I get by okay, though, and business is steady enough that I’ve got time to pursue my less mundane interests while still maintaining a half-decent income.

So far.

Why did I start this site? I’ve been keenly interested in writing since I was in grade 5 and won a poetry contest for a poem called “Spring.” I went on to further fame and fortune by winning first place (and a cool 20 bucks) in a district-wide grade 7 writing contest for a short story called “The Fox.” This title was misleading, as there were two foxes in the story, but the twenty bucks are a pretty good indication that I got away with it. I’ve written a lot more since then, not much of it worth mentioning, but if you were to dig real deep you might find some of my work somewhere, under a cleverly crafted pseudonym.Image

I’ve always believed in God, but I’d never really been too excited about the concept of organized religion and was happy to just read the latest New Age diatribe rather than cracking open that musty old Bible. It wasn’t until my wife got interested in God and started attending church that I began to think more deeply about who God really was, and about Jesus Christ Himself. The rest is history, and has been duly noted in my testimony.

In the future I hope not only to keep this site updated with my devotions, but also to provide helpful resources for the Christian community. I’m the creative coordinator at my church and am often called upon to write scripts or monologues, as well as to help produce video shorts and sometimes even act in them. I have a ton of material to go through before I get on to adding it to this site, but keep your eyes open. You never know what you might see!
